13 IPS, 2 SPS officers transferred in major reshuffle in police department

Raipur: The much anticipated reshuffle in state police department finally took place on Monday with the state government transferring thirteen IPS officers and 2 State Police Service (SPS) officers. A notification in this regard was issued by Under Secretary (Home – Police) Manoj Kumar Shrivatava on behalf of the state Governor early on Monday.

According to the new order, Ajay Kumar Yadav (IPS), who till now was SSP Durg district, has been made the new SP of Raipur district and he replaces Shaikh Arif Hussain (IPS) who has now been given independent charge of DIG (EOW & ACB). Similarly, Prashant Kumar Thakur (IPS), who till now was SP Baloda Bazar-Bhatapara district, has been made the new SP of Durg district and he has been replaced by IK Elesela (IPS) who till now was SP (EOW).

Other transfers include shifting of Commandant (CTJW College) Kanker BS Dhruv (IPS) as AIG (anti-Naxal Operations) in Police Head Quarters (PHQ); Ashutosh Singh (IPS), who till now was SP Sarguja district, as Commandant 4th Battalion CAF (Mana) at Raipur; TR Kosima (IPS) from SP Balrampur district to SP Sarguja district; Ram Krishna Sahu (IPS) from Commandant 4th Battalion CAF (Mana) at Raipur to SP Balrampur district; Balaji Rao Somwar (IPS) from SP Kondagaon district to SP Jashpur district; Shankar Lal Baghel (IPS) from SP Jashpur district as Commandant (CTJW College) Kanker; Siddharth Tiwari (IPS) from ASP Sukma district as SP Kondagaon district; U Udai Kiran (IPS) from ASP Korba district to SP Dantewada district and Sunil Sharma (IPS) from CSP (Azad Chowk) Raipur to ASP Sukma district. In the SPS cadre, Pankaj Chandra who till now was ASP Raipur district has been made SP (EOW & ACB) and Abhishek Maheshwari, who till now was CSP (Urla) in Raipur district has been made AIG (Intelligence) in the PHQ along with additional charge as ASP (Crime) Raipur district.
