In Chhattisgarh, vaccination of health workers as well as frontline workers including those from Police, Revenue, Panchayat and Municipal employees against COVID-19 is going on.
In order to increase the speed of COVID vaccination, the number of centres in the state has been increased to 672. AIR correspondent reports that almost one lakh 97 thousand health and frontline workers have been administered COVID-19 vaccine so far in Chhattisgarh.
More than seven thousand eight hundred health care workers and about 10 thousand three hundred frontline workers were inoculated with COVID-19 doses in the last 24 hours. There is no report of any adverse effect after vaccination from anywhere in the state. In the First Phase, two lakh 67 thousand health and frontline workers are to be vaccinated against COVID-19 in the state.
Meanwhile, the COVID-19 cases in Chhattisgarh are constantly declining. Total 222 new confirmed cases of Corona virus infection were reported during the last 24 hours. Six districts recorded no new cases of infection. The total number of COVID-19 cases detected so far has gone up to three lakh eight thousand 218.
Out of these, about three lakh patients have recovered, taking the state’s overall recovery rate to 97.46 per cent. In the last 24 hours, 312 people were discharged after recovery while seven deaths were reported, taking the total death toll to 3,755. Currently, about four thousand COVID positive patients are being treated in various hospitals or in home isolation in the state.
