Pakistan continues provocation; violates ceasefire in Uri sector

Even as the Pakistan may end up on the global terror watch list after FATF so decides, the country is not showing any signs of adopting remedial measures.

Pakistan on Saturday exchanged fire with Indian troops along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

Defence Ministry sources confirmed that it was unprovoked ceasefire violation by the Pakistani Army and that it has been ongoing in Uri sector since 11.50 am.

It was also confirmed that the Indian troops are strongly and effectively retaliating to Pak provocation.

The Pakistani army has been violating the bilateral ceasefire agreement in Uri of Baramulla district intermittently for the last four days.

Indiscriminate targeting of defence and civilian facilities by the Pakistani army has forced around 500 residents of villages close to the LoC to migrate to safer places leaving behind their homes, cattle and agricultural land.
