An eight member Director General Civil Aviation team visited the under construction Jagdalpur airport.
The team was accompanied by Chhattisgarh Civil Aviation Secretary Mukesh Bansal and senior officials of the district administration.
It need be mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Chhattisgarh on April 14 and may inaugurate the terminal building there.
It is said that the work on airport terminal building has been completed.
But the final decision in this regard is to be taken by Prime Minister’s Office.
It is said that with the inauguration of airport, the flights to Ambikapur may begin as early as May 15 of this year.
Meanwhile, it is said that security preparations ahead of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to restive Bijapur was also reviewed.
It is said that Bijapur would witness unprecedented levels of security in wake of Prime Ministerial visit and an SPG team has already reached the Bijapur district.>
