Though this is the second test match to be played out in the historic MA Chidambaram stadium at Chepauk in Chennai after a long drought, this is the first one to be watched by the diehard cricket fans in person post Covid-19 pandemic.

Incidentally, the last time Chennai hosted a test match has also been against England in December 2016. Though fans are allowed this time, only 50-percent of the gallery are thrown open to maintain social distancing.
