4 SC judges ‘come out in open’; heres what they said on specifics
Four of the Supreme Court justices came out to address media and expressed the need for urgent measures to preserve democracy and ensure that Indian democracy remains intact.
The four senior most justices of the Supreme Court included Justices Jasti Chelameswar, Ranjan Gogoi, Madan Lokur and Kurian Joseph and they stressed that they met the Chief Justice of India with a specific request but it could not be implemented which led them to go hold this media conference.
When asked on an instance to be pointed out, Justice Chelameswar said that they had met about a couple of months ago that four of them collectively gave a signed letter to CJI.
The request was for a particular thing to be done in a particular manner, he said. He added that though that work was done but in such a way that it raised further questions on integrity of institution.
Justice Chelameswar too admitted that the address to the media by Supreme Court judges was indeed an extraordinary thing. >
