6.6 scale earthquake strikes Alaska

A 6.6 Richter scale earthquake struck Alaska state of United States of America. Though there has been no warning of a Tsunami, the US Geological Survey has ascertained the center to be 60 kilometers east of Buldwir islands.

There is an estimated population of 8000 residing here.

The US Geological Survey also pointed out that while most structures here are earthquake resistant, there are some that may have sustained damages.

No reports of casualty or severe damages have been reported as yet.
