66 residential schools approved for homeless orphans in Madhya Pradesh

Nearly 207 Kasturba Gandhi girls schools and 324 girls hostels are being run by the department

The School Education Department has approved 100-seater, 66 residential schools for homeless, orphans and children engaged in ragpicking in urban areas in the state.

Nearly 201 girls hostels are being run by the department for the completion of secondary level education for the girls from small settlements of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and other backward classes in which about 20 thousand girls are studying.

Nearly 207 Kasturba Gandhi girls schools and 324 girls hostels are being run by the department to complete secondary level education of girls from economically weak sections.

About 52 thousand girls are studying in these hostels and schools.
