Environmentalists have expressed concern that massive fire is raging in the Achanakmar tiger reserve over at least past four days but the efforts in dousing the fire have so far not succeeded.
Sources informed that while local officials have been informed of the blaze, the local elected representatives were also tipped off but none has so far yielded any results so far.
It is not yet clear how far the fire has already spread or how much losses it has already caused to the bio-diversity of the forests.
Some of the reports even indicate that the fire may have reached the core zone of the forested region as well.
This, pointed out some of the conservationists, might pose grave danger to the animals there.
This is when there are already arrangements in place which tips off the forest officials on blaze spreading in the jungle and they are even in a position to know as to which is the compartment which is currently affected by fire.>
