Adjunct Lecture on Soft Computing at OPJU

Soft computing is a consortium of methodologies that works synergistically and provides, in one form or another, flexible information processing capabilities for handling real life ambiguous situations and due to the advent of internet technology, its use and importance is increasing day-by-day. Keeping in view the applications and importance of Soft Computing, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, SoE, OP Jindal University, Raigarh organized a Ten-hour lecture during October 5-6, 2018 at the campus.

The aim of the lecture was to make the students learn recent trends and application of soft computing techniques in a cross-cultural environment and to provide them an extensive discussion opportunity on the techniques, applications, and recent research issues of soft computing by the eminent experts. The resource person for the lecture was Dr Rahul Kumar Chaurasiya, Professor, Dept. of EEE, NIT Raipur. He delivered his talk on ‘Designing and development of electrical products with the application of Soft Computing’ and shared his extensive global experience and challenges with the final year students of EEE.

Dr Rahul discussed the topics like, key issues and relationships in the field of Soft Computing including several Optimization techniques, artificial neural network, fuzzy logic and machine learning. The final year students of B.Tech. (EEE) and faculty members attended the lecture. The lecture was very interactive and useful for the participants. At the end of the lecture Dr Srikant Prasad, HOD-EEE thanked the guest and participants and co-ordinator Dr Sushree Diptimayee Swain for successful organisation of the lecture.
