Raipur: Capital Raipur was once again shocked around midnight on Wednesday after notorious criminal was shot dead near Raipura Chowk by cable operator Dharmendra Singh, another criminal element, following a dispute over not giving side to Pathak’s bike while he was on way to Raipura for dropping his brother-in-law at his home.
However, sources have informed that Pathak and Dharmendra were at odds since long over couple of land disputes. Pathak was also involved in a land dispute with few others with the property situated in Sundar Nagar reportedly worth crores of rupees. Apart from that, Pathak was also involved in sensational Ramavtar Jaggi murder case but he later turned government witness and unfolded the entire mystery of that murder.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday night, Pathak was on way to Raipur from his house at Purani Basti to drop his brotherin- law Sourabh at his house in Raipura. While passing through Ring Road no. 1, Pathak reportedly tried to over a car ahead of him but the car refused to give him side despite repeated indication by flickering the headlight. This enraged Pathak and he continued following the car until it turned into Pranjal Petrol pump for refueling.
The car was being driven by Shivendra Singh, son of cable operator Dharmendra Singh, who was also accompanying his son in the car. Pathak instantly started abusing Shivendra for not giving side to his bike despite repeated indications and this was equally retaliated by Shivendra. An already enraged Pathak straightway lost his cool and whipped out of a knife and stabbed Shivendra 2-3 times in his abdominal area. Shocked by this sudden attack on his son Dharmendra rushed out of the car and straightway opened fire upon Pathak through his licenced pistol.

This led to his death on the spot. his son to a nearby private hospital where his condition continues to be critical. Later in the night, Dharmendra reached DD Nagar police station and surrendered before police. In the meantime, police have registered an offence under Section 302 IPC against Dharmendra on complaint filed by Sourabh and separately have also filed an offence under Section 307 IPC against Pathak on complaint filed by Dharmendra.
While Dharmendra is being interrogated further, he was yet to be arrested formally in this case when reports last came in on Thursday. Simultaneously, police is also analyzing the CCTV recordings of the petrol pump and nearby places to come to find out more about the incident that led to his bizarre murder. Admn asks officials to ensure smooth traffic in city Central Chronicle News Raipur, Oct 03: District Collector Dr S Bharatidashan on Thursday directed the officials to ensure smooth traffic arrangement in the city by repairing the path holes on accident prone areas.
Presiding over a meeting of Smooth Traffic in the city, the District Collector and Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Traffic SR Mandavi asked the officials to identify the Blank Spots due to which accidents occur on National Highways and accordingly improve the situation. District Collector also asked them to ensure that Auto Rickshaw ply on roads through their assigned stoppages only. He also asked to identify the new Parking Spots for the vehicles in the city and develop more Parking spaces in the city.
Mahanadi Bridge Aarang
Similarly, directives were issued to put on signage and essential lighting arrangement on Ring Road from Tatibandh to Mandir Hasoud as well as construction of Dividers from Mahanadi Bridge Aarang to Tatibandh Chowk on National Highways. Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) Administration was also asked to shift the Rotary and Islands established within the city to shift to corner which have been affecting the traffic movement in the city.
Transport Department has been directed to take action against the illegally parked heavy vehicles on Ring Road which results in accidents. D e p u t y Superintendent of Police Raipur Satish Thakur as well as senior officials from RMC, Public Works Department, National highways, Smart City Limited, Atal Nagar Development Authority, School Education Department and Transport Department were present on the occasion.
