An apprehensive Christian community could find solace from the advisory that has now been issued by the Union Home Ministry to states.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday asked the states to ensure law and order during Christmas in the wake of fringe elements recently threatening some Christian community members against celebrating the festival.
It need be mentioned that various media reports had recently reported on the threats being issued against celebrating Christmas, especially, in schools.
When asked about it, Singh said an advisory has been issued to all the states and also took to conveying his greetings to the nation on Christmas.
He said India is the only country that believes in ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ – a philosophy that inculcates an understanding that the whole world is one family.
