After appointment of non-Brahmin priests in temples of Kerala

After appointment of non-Brahmin priests in temples of Kerala, similar demands have begun rising in neighboring Tamil Nadu as well. DMK working President MK Stalin has urged the government of the day to appoint qualified but non-Brahmins as temple priests in state as well.

It need be mentioned that Travancore Dewoswom Board had recommended for appointed of many priests in different temples of Kerala and the list includes 36 non-Brahmins including six Dalits. Despite the anticipation that the decision will face protests, the state government is of the view that all of the competent priests will be appointed as per recommendation.
