The comment came after BS Yeddyurappa stepped down as Karnataka’s chief minister on Saturday.

The Mumbai Congress chief was critical of the BJP and its leaders but also was angry on the BJP veteran,Vajubhai Vala, also Governor of Karnataka.

Nirupam said the Karnataka governor had set a “new record of loyalty” in India.

“Maybe everyone in India will name their dogs Vajubhai Vala, since nobody can be more loyal than him.”, he said.

Congress has been attacking the Governor for his decisions on why snub given to the Congress-JD(S) post-poll coalition (which claimed majority support) and also the appointment of a BJP lawmaker as pro tem speaker.

The comment was heavily criticized by the social media.

BJP leaders pointed that such remarks show the arrogance on the part of Congress leaders.
