After Sushma, Punjab CM declines Pakistan invite for Kartarpur corridor event

need be mentioned that External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj too had declined the invite from Pakistan

Despite the invite from Pakistan, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has declined a visit to Pakistan’s ground-breaking event for the Kartarpur corridor.

It need be mentioned that External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj too had declined the invite from Pakistan.

Punjab CM Singh has cited continued terrorist attacks in his state and killings of Indian soldiers by Pakistani armed forces as reason behind his decision.

However, as last time, Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has so far maintained that he will visit Pakistan.

Punjab CM Captain Amarinder went ahead to welcome the historic occasion and termed the Kartarpur corridor as the cherished desire of the Sikhs around the world.

He said that Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan will surely understand that under these circumstances it will
not be possible for him to be present in Pakistan on this historic occasion.

The proposed corridor will link Gurdwara Sahib Kartarpur in Pakistan with Dera Baba Nanak in Punjab.
