The ongoing strike of the Resident doctors at Delhi’s AIIMS has finally ended after the senior doctor who had slapped the junior one apologized in writing.
The resident doctors had been protesting over an alleged assault on one of their colleagues by a senior doctor.
The strike has been called off following several rounds of meetings with the administration.
The resident doctors are said to have urged that Monday be declared a working day so that the surgeries which were cancelled due to the strike can be conducted.
The strike had been adversely impacting the healthcare services at the top hospital for three days.
Even the routine surgeries were cancelled, out-patient clinics functioned in a restricted manner and patients seeking OPD consultation were sent back due to the strike.
Only the emergency and intensive care unit functioned.>
