AIMIM MLA had to issue an apology, for this reason

said that the Lord Ganesha is a Hindu god and thus this goes against the tenets of religion

In a shocking turn of events, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) MLA Waris Pathan was forced to tender an apology on camera after a few Muslim clerics objected to him worshipping and paying respects to Lord Ganesha.

They said that the Lord Ganesha is a Hindu god and thus this goes against the tenets of religion.

Facing backlash, Pathan eventually issued an apology for chanting “Ganpati Bappa Morya” at the event.

Pathan is the one who represents Byculla constituency in Mumbai and had visited a Ganpati Pandal recently during the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi where he had addressed the crowd.

He said that praying to Lord Ganesha brings happiness for everyone and helps them overcome any obstacles.

He had said, “This shows that all of us are together. I will pray to Lord Ganesha that he helps you overcome all your problems and for your happiness. Ganpati Bappa Maurya.”

This video went viral and he faced so much flak that Pathan had to put out a video of apology over the issue.
