Air India flight halted for inspections after bomb threat call; in Delhi

took about two hours for the inspections to be completed

A Delhi-Kolkata Air India flight was taken to a remote bay at the national capital airport following a bomb threat call made to the Air India office.

The bomb threat call came when the passengers had already boarded the Air India Dreamliner and the flight was to have departed for Kolkata at 2.25 pm.

As per standard procedure, as soon as the AI office at IGI Airport got a call that a bomb was on the flight, the baggage was offloaded on that plane for checks.

It took about two hours for the inspections to be completed.

It was said that another aircraft was made available for the passengers to be taken to Kolkata.
