Ajay Singh new chief secretary of Chhattisgarh; to replace Vivek Dhand, now retired

In a major development in the bureaucracy of Dr Raman Singh government in Chhattisgarh, senior IAS Ajay Singh has been appointed as new Chief Secretary of the state.

He replaces Vivek Dhand, who will now head the Real Estate (regulation and development) RERA act, after retirement.

According to government sources, Ajay Singh is scheduled to take over the charge of chief secretary from today itself.

This also implies that most likely, Vivek Dhand would not be amongst those accompanying the Chief Minister in his trip to Australia that begins from January 13.

Dhand had been chief secretary of the state for more than 4 years now.
