Akshay Kumar’s Kesari set in Maharashtra’s Wai Destroyed

Akshay Kumar will be seen playing the role of a military commander of 21 Sikh soldiers named Havaldar Ishar Singh who fought against thousands of Afghani invaders in his upcoming movie Kesari

Akshay Kumar who has been shooting for his war drama Kesari in the Wai district of Maharashtra, escaped a tragic incident last night after a fire broke out on the sets. While the reason for the fire is unknown, the good news was that the entire cast and crew is safe.

In fact, Akshay had already left for the day before the broke out. However, the set designs have been heavily destroyed and we have the first photo of it.

Given that there are 10 more days left for the shoot, we can only imagine the colossal loss the production team might have to incur.

Kesari is based on the Battle of Saragarhi and is being helmed by Anurag Singh under Karan Johar’s home banner Dharma Productions and also stars Parineeti Chopra in a pivotal role.

Akshay will be seen playing the role of a military commander of 21 Sikh soldiers named Havaldar Ishar Singh who fought against thousands of Afghani invaders.

Talking about Kesari, Akshay had earlier stated, “It is not that I will do only this kind of film. I am doing a war film called Kesari, it is for the first time that I am doing a war film, it is new for me. So I am very excited about it.”

On the other hand, about working with Akshay, Parineeti had said in an interview, “It has been a dream to work with Akshay for a long time. He is a Punjabi and so am I and we are doing a Punjabi film together. I am very excited to start the shoot.”

Kesari is slated to release during the Holi weekend in 2019.
