Alleging disproportionate use of force, legislator demands suspension of police officer

Mahasamund legislator Vimal Chopra has threatened to resign as MLA unless the state government acts tough against police personnel responsible for yesterday’s disproportionate use of violence against his supporters.

He has specifically demanded for suspension and subsequent transfer of City SP Uday Kiran.

It need be mentioned that the whole thing started as dispute between badminton coach and local lads.
The issue was later referred to the police.

The dispute then became one between the legislator Vimal Chopra and City SP Uday Kiran.

MLA Chopra went ahead to say that he has brifed on the whole issue to the Chhattisgarh assembly speaker Gauri Shankar Agrawal and also the Minister Brijmohan Agrawal.

He said that he would shortly meet the Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh and putforth his demands.

Various other social and political fronts have also come out condemning the disproportionate police action.
