Chief Secretary Mr. Ajay Singh today presided over the meeting of State-level Monitoring Committee on Forest Land Rights’ Lease pattas to the adivasis at Mantralaya (Mahanadi Bhawan).
He called upon the Department officials to expedite the process of distributing Forest Rights Lease papers soon.
Mr. Ajay Singh said that recognition and verification of Lease patta papers should be completed as early as possible.
The officers informed the meeting that around four lakh 18 thousand 513 Lease patta papers had been distributed till date.
About 10 lakh 87 thousand 197 hectare land had been distributed in individual and community cases. Chhattisgarh stands second in the entire country in the distribution of Forest Rights’ Lease pattas.
The State stands first in the distribution of Lease pattas in individual cases.
Eight lakh 36 thousand 502 hectares land had been given away in this category.
Several senior officers were also present at the meeting.>
