Amid Doklam concerns, Army Chief Rawat assures of ‘no reason to worry’

Amid reports that he has made a secret visit to Bhutan in view of infra development by China on Bhutan bordert, the Indian Army Chief Bipin Rawat assured that situation in Doklam is fine.

It need be mentioned that this comes amid Navy Chief Admiral Sunil Lanba expressing that frequent instances of transgression by the Chinese army across the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and the Doklam incident were an indication of increasing assertiveness by China.

The Army Chief however struck a different tone and said that there is no reason to worry.

Many experts however point out that Admiral Lanba, who is also chairman of chiefs of staff committee, referred to how the face-off at Doklam has also underscored the vulnerability of Siliguri Corridor, a 22 km-long narrow stretch linking the Northeast with the rest of India.
