Amid tension, Iran now plans on deploying its ships close to this country

Amid rising tension, the Iranian navy will send warships to deploy in the Atlantic.

It is expected to be deployed from March itself.

It was confirmed by a top commander of the Iranian Navy.

This is especially aimed at Iran seeking to increase the operating range of its naval forces to the backyard of the United States.

Iran sees the presence of U.S. aircraft carriers in the Gulf as a security concern.

Iranian Navy also added that in December itself, Iran would soon send two to three vessels on a mission to Venezuela.

A U.S.-Iranian war of words has escalated since U.S. President Donald Trump took Washington out of a world powers’ nuclear deal with Iran in May, and reimposed sanctions on its banking and energy sectors.
