After creating waves in ‘Pink’, Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu are all set to work their magic in Sujoy Ghosh’s next. Titled ‘Badla’, the film’s script was reportedly with the filmmaker for 10 years. The three-protagonist film was planned with Ghosh’s favourite, Vidya Balan in mind. The third protagonist was reportedly to be played by Naseeruddin Shah. Should the actor give his nod to the project that has been revived six years later, it would be a casting coup of sorts with the two stalwarts coming face-to-face for a film.
When asked as to what took him so long for the filmmaker to get cracking on the film, Sujoy attributed it to the film’s title – ‘Badla’. He reportedly said that the film’s title was registered with another film producer and he had to wait that long to get it for his film.
If you’re wondering why the filmmaker would wait ten years for a film title, the reason lies in the story of the film. It is reportedly based on two men who grow older wanting to take revenge on each other and when the opportunity presents itself, it’s a different story.
Bachchan and the film’s producer Sunir Khetarpal have confirmed the project.>
