Managing Director of Amitabh Bachchan Corp Ltd, Rajesh Yadav, is arranging all the flights. Two flights took off earlier. The third flight took off today (June10) at 12:30 pm.
Last month, Amitabh had arranged for 10 buses to send migrants workers home to his home-state, Uttar Pradesh. He also collaborated with Haji Ali Trust and Pir Makhdum Saheb Trust to distribute 4,500 packets of cooked food on a daily basis to the needy.
Apart from sending migrants home and distributing food, Big B’s office also donated more than 20,000 PPE kits to hospitals, police stations, BMC offices and funeral places.
The spread of the novel coronavirus have rendered many jobless. With no means of transportation available, many decided to walk miles to reach their homes. Unable to cover the long journey on foot, reports of migrants workers dying of hunger and dehydration came up on social media.
Bollywood celebrities like Sonu Sood and Amitabh Bachchan have come out in their support and are doing their bit to help them reach their homes safely.
