Amitabh Bachchan has reportedly been admitted in Mumbai’s Nanavati hospital for a liver problem. According to Times of India, the actor was rushed to the hospital at 2 am on 15 October. He has been in the hospital ever since. His only visitors so far are the Bachchan family.
However, sources told The Quint that Amitabh had just gone for a regular check-up and he was not admitted. On the big screen, he was last seen in Sujoy Ghosh’s ‘Badla’.
Amitabh Bachchan is currently working on popular television quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati. On the big screen, he was last seen in Sujoy Ghosh’s Badla. His upcoming projects include Gulaabo Sitabo, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, and Brahamastra, starring real-life couple Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor.
On 24 October, the legendary actor was “unanimously selected” for the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his immense contribution to cinema. The Dadasaheb Phalke Award is India’s highest honour given in the field of cinematic art.
Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar, announced the same on Twitter. “The legend Amitabh Bachchan who entertained and inspired for 2 generations has been selected unanimously for #DadaSahabPhalke award. The entire country and international community is happy. My heartiest Congratulations to him,” he wrote.
