Amitabh Bachchan, who is known to be at the forefront of admirable causes and charitable initiatives has reportedly donated his personal belongings for Kerala CM’s Distress Relief Fund. The actor has contributed for Kerala Relief coordinated by Resul Pookutty for Kerala CM’s Distress Relief Fund.
A source close to Resul Pookutty has revealed that Bachchan has not only donated Rs 51 lakh in cash but also sent six cartons of his personal clothing, including of around 80 jackets, 25 pants, 20 shirts and scarves. He has also donated around 40 shoes.
More and more celebs are coming forward to help out Kerala. Earlier, Sushant Singh Rajput had donated Rs 1 crore on behalf of a fan to the #KeralaFloodRelief fund. Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Esha Gupta, Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, too, have earlier extended their help by donating money to the CM fund.
India, on Wednesday politely declined financial aid from other countries to flood-devastated Kerala where 370 people have died so far. The United Arab Emirates (UAE), home to around 2.8 million expatriate Indians, most of whom hail from Kerala, has offered Rs 700-crore aid.
“The government of India deeply appreciates offers from several countries to assist in relief and rehabilitation efforts after the tragic floods,” External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar has said in response to queries.>
