Anganbadi workers grapple with ill-health amid fast; more dismissals announced

Anganbadi workers, who have been on fast for past many weeks, have the resolve to continue on their agitation but some of them are failing when it comes to health front.

It is now known that three more such protesting Anganbadi workers who have been identified as Padmavati, Bhuvaneswari and Santoshi have been taken to hospital after their health deteriorated.

The three of them had to be taken to hospital on Sanjivni 108 ambulance.

Police on duty to ensure that situation does not turn bad summoned the ambulance after they learnt that more Anganbadi workers may need to be shifted to hospital.

Meanwhile, those protesting at the site urged the police that the one’s being taken to the hospital must be brought back in healthy condition.

The Anganbadi workers have six point demands to be fulfilled by the government.

They hope that this being the election year, they would be able to make the government concede to their demands.

Former head of the state finance commission Virendr Pandey meanwhile noted that the government is in such ego that it has not even taken the step of initiating the dialog.

There is more bad news for the protesting Anganbadi workers as many of them have now been dismissed from the job for not joining in their duties.

It is said that Raipur municipal commissioner has dismissed 60 Anganbadi workers and 15 assistants from the Dharsiva project.
