The BJP in Delhi, has alleged that a group of its leaders was “heckled and attacked” at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s home this morning, when they had gone to discuss a controversial sealing drive in the capital. The party said it “strongly condemned the planned attempt to heckle and attack by the Chief Minister’s supporters” as its leaders, led by Manoj Tiwari, arrived at Mr Kejriwal’s home.
Mr Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), however, countered that the BJP leaders “walked out” in the middle of the meeting.
Three BJP MPs, three legislators and two Mayors had come for the meeting with Mr Kejriwal and AAP lawmakers. The BJP members reportedly objected to the presence of the media, but Mr Kejriwal argued that “all discussions should happen in the open”.
COMMENTS”The BJP team left the meeting without listening to (the Chief Minister). Are BJP representatives really serious in traders’ issues or they just want to divert the issue from sealing by BJP governed authorities?” questioned AAP leaders.
The sealing drive is being carried out by a Supreme Court-appointed Monitoring Committee against business establishments using residential properties for commercial purposes.>
