It need be mentioned that police families have threatened of agitation on June 25 to which the DGP had to say that police needs to stay in discipline.

He went on to blame the whole momentum on few of the retired police officials.

DGP Upadhyay said that any such move would only tarnish the image of the police force.

He said that whatever has been achieved for the police force eversince Chhattisgarh came into being has not been achieved due to protests or demonstrations.

DGP Upadhyay defended the steps taken for the welfare of the police force and mentioned that force level at the time of state coming into being was 22,000 which rose to 70,000.
