Ashish Pandey surrenders in court, after video of him went viral

He also reiterated his faith in the judiciary.

Police has been on the lookout for him and Ashish Pandey finally surrendered at a court in Delhi.

Ashish Pandey is the son of the Bahujan Samaj Party leader who went missing since he waved a gun and threatened a woman at a five-star hotel in national capital.

However, interestingly enough, in a video message, he has also claimed that he was the one who was being threatened and the gun he pulled was meant for safety.

He also reiterated his faith in the judiciary.

Police was under pressure to act against the young man after a widely circulated cellphone video from the hotel evoked shock and outrage.

It was widely described as display of VIP arrogance.

Ashish Pandey is the son of Rakesh Pandey, a former lawmaker from Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party.

It is said that the row had started in the hotel’s ladies’ toilet.

After his friends told him the video had already gone viral, Mr Pandey exited from all WhatsApp groups and switched off his phone.
