The Assam government will construct 9 thousand kilometre of roads under PMGSY (Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana) in the next one year.
Participating in a News talk show in Guwahati tonight, Assam PWD and Excise minister Parimal Sukla Baidya said that 720 new bridges will be constructed and another 1000 wooden bridges will be converted to reinforced concrete or RCC during this period.
The minister further said that 2500 kilometres road have been constructed in the state during last one year. On Excise department, he said that 1000 crore rupees have been earned by his department during last one year which was 250 crore rupees more than the previous year.
Suklabaidya said that to bring complete transperancy, everything has been made online in Excise department. Sukla Baidya who is also holding the portfolio of Fishery department said that Assam will be made self sufficient in fish production within next four years.
