Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh paid courteous tribute Bharat Ratna and Chief Architect of Indian Constitution Baba Saheb Dr Bheemrao Ambedkar on his 127th birth anniversary by garlanding his statue at Ghadi Chowk of capital city Raipur.
On the occasion, Chief Minister said that Baba Saheb showed the way to move ahead with self-respect to weaker section of society.
He envisioned such an ideal society, where there is no discrimination of caste or status and everyone gets equal opportunities. He envisioned our society as progressive. Chief Minister said that Baba Saheb empowered weaker sections with fundamental rights through Constitution and showed them the way to live and grow with self-respect.
Vidhan Sabha Speaker Mr. Gaurishankar Agrawal presided over the programme organized by Dr Bheemrao Ambedkar Sarvajanik Samaroh Samiti.
The programme was attended by Raipur Mayor Mr. Pramod Dubey, Chairman Chhattisgarh State Minority Commission Mr. Surendra Singh Cambo, Member Mr Tauqeer Raza, Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Backward Section Commission Dr Siyaram Sahu, Vice-Chairman Chhattisgarh State Scheduled Tribe Commission Mr. Vikas Markam, Speaker Raipur Municipal Corporation Mr. Prafulla Vishwakarma, Chairman Raipur Development Authority Mr. Sanjay Shrivastav, Ex-Mayor Mr. Sunil Soni, Ex-Corporator Mr. Sunil Bandre, and many other representatives. Chief Minister said that Baba Saheb was ‘Yug Purush’.
It is a matter of pride that as per the ideals of Baba Saheb, the community is marching ahead in all the sectors united.
Paying tribute to Baba Saheb, Vidhan Sabha Speaker Mr. Gaurishankar Agrawal said that said that Dr Ambedkar made significant contribution in preserving unity of the society through Constitution and in abolishing many social evils.
In the programme, Chief Minister felicitated the famous folk singer of Chhattisgarh Mrs. Kavita Vasnik, on behalf of the organizers.
He inaugurated website of Chhattisgarh Minority Commissionm which will make it convenient for people of minority community to get certificates.>
