Babul Supriyo stopped from visiting Raniganj amid WB violence; know what happened next

BJP Minister Supriyo claimed that two FIRs were lodged against him

With communal clashes simmering in Bengal, the Union minister Babul Supriyo and a senior West Bengal BJP leader were stopped by police from entering the Asansol-Raniganj area.

It need be mentioned that the area is on the boil since Sunday since clashes following a Ram Navami rally.

In the meantime, the BJP Minister Supriyo claimed that two FIRs were lodged against him after which he also filed a complaint against the police.

Attempts to enter the area was also made by the state BJP Mahila Morcha president Locket Chatterjee but she too was barred in view of tense situation.

The administration has suspended the internet services and prohibitory orders were clamped in the area.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee held a high-level meeting as she returned from the Delhi.
