Indian shuttlers HS Prannoy and Parupalli Kashyap have stormed into the Men‘s Singles semi-finals of US Open Grand Prix Gold tournament at Anaheim in California.
In the quarterfinals this morning, 2nd seed Prannoy beat Japan’s Kanta Tsuneyama 10-21, 21-15,21-18. Earlier unseeded Kashyap defeated his fifth placed compatriot Sameer Verma in straight games, 21-13, 21-16.
The Men’s Doubles pair of Manu Attri and B. Sumeeth Reddy has also entered into the semi-finals. The third seed Indian pair defeated Japanese duo of Hiroki Okamura and Mayauki Onodera 21-18, 22-20 in the quarterfinal this morning.
Meanwhile, in the Russian Open Grand Prix tournament at Vladivostok, three Indian shuttlers will play their semi-final matches today.
In Men’s Singles, unseeded Rahul Chittaboina will take on second placed local favourite Vladimir Malkov, while in Men’s Doubles semi-finals, the fourth seeded pair of Arjun MR and Ramchandran Shlok will face the top placed home team of Vladimir Ivanov and Ivan Sozonov.
