Chhattisgarh Congress President Bhupesh Baghel has written to Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) asking them their stand on some major issues like liquor policy.
The letter has been posted on the Facebook page of the Congress leader and is seen as political masterstroke to corner the ruling party on these issues that Congress has raised. He asked in his letter if the RSS supports the ongoing policy of liquor sale and its black-marketing within the state. He said that RSS needs to express its view on the state government decision of selling liquor by itself from this session onwards. Baghel also targeted RSS on the issue of corruption and questioned as to why it put on hold its ‘Arthik Shuchita’ program even though there are many allegations leveled on the state government ministers.
He said that while at the time of state coming into being, almost 33 percent of people were under poverty line, it was in a recent interview that Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh admitted to having 44 percent of its people under poverty line. This shows that Chhattisgarh is desperate for good governance. He also raised the issue of farmer suicides and alleged that it has become commonplace under incumbent regime even though this never used to happen in Chhattisgarh earlier.
