Baghel’s claims on land rejected by local court; major setback

Nand Kumar Baghel said that since then he has been making use of the land

It has indeed come as a major setback for the Chhattisgarh Congress President Bhupesh Baghel as a local court has rejected the claim of his father Nand Kumar Baghel that a 20 acre land piece is their paternal property.

Sources informed that petitioner Nand Kumar Baghel could not substantiate his claim on the piece of land or that it ever was in their name.

It is this fact that went against them and the court rejected Baghel’s claim on land.

As per the case detail, petitioner Nand Kumar Baghel had claimed that his father Khomnath Baghel of village Kuruddih was a rent payer of Patwari halka 64.

As he died back in year 1973, he had possession of the land, claimed Nand Kumar Baghel.

Nand Kumar Baghel said that since then he has been making use of the land.

He claimed that for some reason, his name got deleted from the records.

But the land is still in his possession, he said.

He also pleaded for court to order record to be updated and make an entry of his name as owner of the land.

It need be mentioned that politics has been heated over the land, which is claimed by Nand Kumar Baghel as his own paternal property.

Chhattisgarh Janata Congress Jogi leader Vidhan Mishra had on January 6 of 2017 submitted relevant documents to the then Durg Collector R Sangeeta.

Since the matter had come to light, the state government too ordered a probe.
