Bakery shop burgled of cash, mobile phone worth Rs 1.22 lakh

Raipur: Unidentified burglars broke into a locked bakery shop and decamped with cash Rs 1.20 lakh and a mobile phone in Nalapara area of Kachna on the intervening night of Saturday-Sunday. The burglary was noticed on Sunday morning following which a complaint was lodged in Khamardih police station and police registered an offence later in the night.

According to police, bakery owner G Dharma Rao had recently purchased a high-speed flour mixing machine and was required to make the payment of Rs 1.20 lakh to the seller by next week. As such, he had borrowed Rs 50000 from his brother-in-law and another Rs 50000 from a friend on Saturday. Fearing of the money robbed in way to home, he had kept the money along with Rs 20000 of his own in the bakery itself before locking it at about 10:30 pm on Saturday. However, when he arrived at the bakery on Sunday morning, he found the shutter locks broken and lying nearby.

Further entering into the bakery, he found that the cash counter too was broken open and all the cash amount of Rs 1.20 lakh and a mobile phone kept there were gone. Khamardih police, in the meantime, has registered an offence under Section 457, 380 IPC against unidentified burglars and is now investigating the matter further
