Batti Gul Meter Chalu‘s, new poster is here and it screams of what we have endured a lot of times in India Load shedding. The tagline reads, ‘Fused bulb se kranti nahi lai ja sakti’ which is so true.
Shahid Kapoor shared the poster saying, “It’s current! It’s light! It’s shocking! #BattiGulMeterChalu#BGMCPoster Trailer out on Friday at 12:30 pm.” This is the second poster and we are damn stoked about it now.
The first poster had the birds sitting on a live wire with the logo of the film. That’s a usual sight in every part of India where for some reasons birds love to sit on these wires dangling everywhere and also get electrocuted at times.
The second poster, however, has a fused bulb, a town in complete darkness and a stirring tagline. We have a feeling the trailer is going to make everyone nostalgic and also a bit angry as well.
Batti Gul Meter Chalu is a humorous take on the privatisation of electricity. Speaking to us, Shahid had revealed, “I connected with it and I understood that it is a very relevant real issue.
Electricity is and you know the lack of electricity in many parts of our country and the kind of bills some people get since it has got privatised it is a talking point for the entire country.
It is a big issue and when somebody finds a script that’s a film and not a documentary that is entertaining but is talking about an issue and is taking it up, I think everybody will be very curious to know about it.
I also discuss it, this month’s bill is so high, AC was on the entire month, the geyser is really big or what, oh this is because of the new fridge. It is so relevant. In Mumbai, there are no electricity cuts but you go beyond, people have to live with it.”>
