In a major decision, the Bihar cabinet has decided to cut down on the examination fees of various competitive examinations for women candidates.
This facility will be available to all categories of the state.
The cabinet meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
The fee reduction would be applicable to the examinations conducted by Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) and Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC), it was informed.
In so far as how much it would impact the candidates in financial terms, the examination fees has been reduced from Rs 600 to Rs 150 for preliminary test and from Rs 750 to Rs 200 for mains examination.
The decision is aimed at hiking the number of posts such as deputy collector, senior deputy collector, under secretary, deputy secretary, joint secretary and special secretary.>
