Amitabh Bachchan, doesn’t want to celebrate his 76th birthday today. The actor, who was born on October 11, 1942 to beloved Awadhi-poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, earned his name and fame in the mid-70s when his film Zanjeer (1973) became a hit.
Over the last few decades, Amitabh Bachchan has become one of the most popular stars in the industry, who has received critical-acclaim as well as the love of fans.
However, this year, the actor is rumoured to be not celebrating his birthday. While he took to his Twitter account to thank his fans for their wishes earlier today, unlike other Bollywood stars, Big B will not have a big bash with the who’s who of Bollywood attending. In fact, he isn’t even planning to celebrate it with his family.
According to a report, , Amitabh Bachchan’s decision to not celebrate his birthday is because of the recent demise of his daughter Shweta Nanda’s father-in-law Rajan Nanda.
The report also revealed that Amitabh Bachchan was also deeply saddened by the demise of Raj Kapoor’s wife Krishna Raj Kapoor, recently, and consequently is in no mood for celebration.
“Shweta (the Big B’s daughter) lost her father-in-law Rajan Nanda a few months ago, while more recently Shweta’s mom-in-law Ritu Nanda lost her mother, the much-missed Krishna Raj Kapoor.
On top of that one of Mr Bachchan’s favourite co-stars Rishi Kapoor has left for medical treatment in the US for a very serious ailment.” – a source told.
Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan is awaiting the release of his upcoming film Thugs of Hindostan, which also stars Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh.
The actor, was also shooting for Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra in Bulgaria with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. While Thugs of Hindostan will hit theatres, a day after Diwali on Nomvember 8, Brahmastra doesn’t release until next year.
