On Parineeti Chopra's birthday, here's looking back at the time the actor lost oodles of weight.

Parineeti Chopra, made her acting debut with the 2011 romantic comedy Ladies vs Ricky Bahl and went on to feature in several impressive films including Ishaqzaade (2012), Shuddh Desi Romance (2013) and Hasee Toh Phasee (2014) among others.

Lauded for her acting prowess, praised for her bubbliness and loved for amicability, Parineeti has created quite a niche for herself.

But while she has always been loved and blessed by her fans, as she celebrates her birthday today, here’s a look back at the time the actor had a massive transformation post her formative years in the film industry.

Parineeti went on to be the poster girl of all things fitness when she decided to lose oodles of weight to make sure she’s back in the game better than ever.

Not many actors would admit to being overweight but Parineeti opened up about it in a heartwarming Instagram post and laid bare her gamut of emotions as she penned the post down.

Just two years back, Parineeti had taken to Instagram to share an old photograph of herself, with which she shared an extensive post detailing how she struggled with how she looked and even revealed what made her shed kilos soon after joining the film industry.

She had written, “BEFORE .. All my life, I have struggled with how I look, how I feel, and how people looked at me. I was constantly made fun of, but the person I was, I generously laughed with them.

Today, many people ask me what triggered the weight loss, did I give in to the “bollywood pressure”? To that I say – thank god I became an actor and had that pressure! I am able to achieve what I couldn’t achieve otherwise. I feel more confident, I feel at peace, and I feel proud!”

Post delivery weight, teenage obesity, they are fighting it, and I am their inspiration. As an actor, There is no bigger achievement for me. I am glad to be a part of your life in this way. So thank you everyone. Thank You for making me feel loved. Like I always say – if I could do it. So can you. And I am always there for all of you …. Lots of love….

She went on to share that girls and women meet her at various places and share with her how Parineeti’s fitness journey inspired lives and changed their lives.

“They hold my hand, hug me, and tell me their struggles and how I changed their lives. They show me their wallpapers, their wallets, and its all pictures of me!! They look at those pictures and want to make that change in their own lives. They look at my Built That Way campaign and have stuck it to their walls. I have seen women tear up and tell me I changed their life. Post delivery weight, teenage obesity, they are fighting it, and I am their inspiration.”

“As an actor, There is no bigger achievement for me. I am glad to be a part of your life in this way. So thank you everyone. Thank You for making me feel loved. Like I always say – if I could do it. So can you. And I am always there for all of you …. Lots of love….” she concluded the post.

But while Parineeti feels fitter than ever today, her journey to fitness wasn’t as easy. The actor self admittedly “hates going to the gym, running on treadmills or doing weights”. Hence, she revealed to Times of India that her idea of a workout is to keep it fun and relaxed as that’s exactly how one acheives the result.

She has been quoted as saying, “I opted for mixed workouts so that I didn’t get bored of doing just one thing. When you experiment with new forms of experiment with new forms of exercise, you stay motivated on a daily basis. I love dancing for an hour or two. I often go for a swim or practise Kalaripayattu (a form of martial arts from Kerala) with the help of my trainer. I hit the gym once in a while. It’s important to be consistent, stay active and sweat it out.”

Parineeti also doesn’t follow a particular diet and believes in fulfilling her cravings even if it means doing so in limited quantities. “If anyone tells me to stop eating chocolates or pizza, I won’t be able to do it. I have always fulfilled my cravings but the only difference is that the quantity on my plate has decreased. Now, I have limited portions of everything,” she said.

Parineeti also has a busy year lined up ahead of her. Even though her film Namaste England failed to perform well at the box-office Parinneti has still managed to impress us all with her performnace. The film released on October 18 and also starred Arjun Kapoor.

Apart from this, the actress will also be seen in Jabariya Jodi with Sidharth Malhotra and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar with Arjun Kapoor. The film will be hitting the theatres in March 2019.

Well, it seems like we will get to see more of the actress making us get excited. We simply cannot wait for the films to release and see her dazzle on the silver screen once again.
