Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) President Asaduddin Owaisi has lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress over the recent religion debate between the two parties.
Expressing disgust, Owaisi said that leaders from both the parties are busy claiming their rights on the Hindu religion and that it has become some sort of a competition.
He went on to say that the two parties are fighting against each other to prove who is the better Hindu.
AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi has sparked the religion debate yet again. Owaisi has said that the BJP & Congress have formed a religious club and indulging in religious politics, he also said both the parties are fighting against each other to prove who is the better Hindu.
“Did Ambedkar pave this path where someone can say he is a ‘Janeu dhaari Hindu’ and someone can say he is a Hindu as well as OBC or someone says he is a Jain as well as Hindu? Did freedom fighters sacrifice themselves for this?” Owaisi questioned.
Slamming both the parties for the fresh religion row, Owaisi questioned: “What message are Congress and BJP sending across to Dalits and tribals?”
“That they are lesser and these are great. Their secularism and ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ is a lie. This can’t be tolerated,” he said.
Of late, the BJP and Congress have engaged in a debate over religion, and both the members of the parties have hit out against thier leaders – Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi.
The increasing hostility between the two parties is a direct result of the upcoming elections in Gujarat. >
While it is a prestige battle for the BJP, the Congress will be looking to uproot the ruling party that has been in the state for more than two decades.
