BJP demands Baig’s resignation after he used an expletive against Modi

BJP has demanded resignation of Karnataka minister R Roshan Baig for hurling an expletive at the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He was addressing Congress workers of Pulikeshinagar assembly constituency three days back. The constituency has large Tamil population.

The remark or expletive stirred a huge controversy as the video clipping of his speech, delivered in Tamil, was aired by TV channels.

He criticized the demonetization step of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and thus went on to use an expletive.

Baig added that it is not the Congressmen, but Gujaratis and Marwaris, who had supported BJP.

The remarks of Mr Baig, who is the urban development minister, drew flak from BJP with the party Lok Sabha member Shobha Karandlaje, charging it was only a manifestation of the “Congress culture”.

She said Mr Baig should apologise and that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should drop him from the ministry.
