BJP has a new party headquarters; Prime Minister inaugurates new premises
The top leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party was in national capital today to inaugurate the new BJP headquarters in Delhi’s Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg.
The inauguration was done at the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with BJP President Amit Shah and host of senior leaders in attendance.
The multi-storeyed modern construction is said to be fitted with latest communication technologies.
It will also make the BJP the first major national party to shift its office outside Lutyens’ Bungalow Zone.
The shifting follows a Supreme Court directive that party offices should be relocated from there.
The BJP’s shift is obviously going to put pressure on other parties to follow suit as almost all of them have been functioning for decades out of bungalows.
It need be mentioned that the BJP had been working from Ashoka Road while the main opposition Congress office is at Akbar Road.
Modi and Shah had laid the foundation stone of the new headquarters in August last year and a Mumbai-based architecture company had designed it. >
