BJP leader booked for rape and abduction, on plaint of a woman

Gujarat police stated that relying on the statements of the woman, a probe has been initiated

A BJP leader in Gujarat has been booked for rape, abduction and wrongful confinement on the complaint of a 21-year-old woman.

The woman has accused former BJP state unit vice-president Jayanti Bhanushali.

Gujarat police stated that relying on the statements of the woman, a probe has been initiated.

Police have also come across a pen drive from her which contains videos of the alleged act.

The woman is said to be a resident of Surat and had filed an application with the Surat police commissionerate
accusing Bhanushali of raping her multiple times.

The rape was on the pretext of admission to a ‘reputed college’ in Ahmedabad.

The woman alleged that while Bhanushali drove the woman in his car to an isolated place and raped her, his driver and bodyguard recorded the act.

Bhanushali had also, allegedly, given the woman a mobile phone with a SIM card so he could maintain contact with her.
