BJP leader booked for rape, heres what happened

In a major development, the Maharashtra BJP leader Madhu Chavan has been booked for rape by the police.

Chavan is the chairman of the Maharashtra Affordable Housing and Development Authority.

Police said that the case was registered at Chiplun police station.

The case was filed on the instructions of a court.

Police however is continuing with the probe into the case.

The complainant of the case stated that Chavan allegedly assaulted her repeatedly between 2002 and 2017 on false
pretexts.

The victim did approach the police but her complaint was not registered.
