BJP leader killed in Bengal, allegation on ruling party cadres

It is being seen as a political killing and the party is blaming the ruling Trinamool for the murder of a local BJP leader in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district.

The political activist was hacked to death by unidentified miscreants in Mandir Bazar area of the district, police said today.

The deceased has been identified as Shaktipada Sardar (45).

He was the secretary of BJP Mandal committee of Mandira Bazar-Dhanurhat area.

It is said that as he was returning home last night, some of the miscreants attacked him with sharp weapon and left him bleeding on the road, they said.

The local people spotted Sardar lying on the road and rushed him to Diamond Harbour Hospital.

But his condition deteriorated and the hospital referred him to a hospital in Kolkata.

He meanwhile died while being taken to a hospital in Kolkata, he said.

Police said they have started an investigation into the matter.
