BJP suffers jolt as close to twenty leaders quit party in North East

A massive jolt for the BJP with as many as 25 party leaders have resigned across northeast in the past few days.

The party’s organizaton would obviously be in disarray ahead of crucial parliamentary election.

As many as 18 BJP leaders in Arunachal Pradesh, including party general secretary Jarpum Gambin, Home Minister Kumar Waii and Tourism Minister Jarkar Gamlin as well as six legislators resigned from the party.

The resignations came about after being denied tickets for the assembly polls.

The BJP has finalised only two alliances in the region, even as many of its regional allies, including Conrad Sangma’s NPP and Sikkim’s SKM, have
dumped the party ahead of the polls.

BJP leader Kiren Rijiju said that the decision on tickets was made by the central election committee.
